Dr. Nowak was born in Poland, but he has spent much of his life in Michigan where he resided in Ann Arbor for over 20 years. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees in Human Physiology from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He then joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at Michigan State University where he earned the combined degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and PhD in Human and Molecular Physiology. During his clinical training, he completed an internship, residency in Internal Medicine, and a fellowship in General/Invasive Cardiology through Michigan State University at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. Thereafter, he obtained sub-specialty training in Interventional Cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. In addition to being board certified in Cardiology/Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Nowak is also board certified in Endovascular Medicine and has special interest in treating patients with Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). “I hope to provide care in a patient-centered manner where shared decision making and patient preferences are recognized while evidence-based treatment options are considered." When not working Dr. Nowak likes to ski, hike and travel.
